LayoffTracker.us strives to provide clear, up-to-date visibility into layoffs across the United States.
LayoffTracker.us began as a mission-focused product initiative within Workcules Inc., whose broader goal is to help match laid-off workers with new hiring opportunities. To build such a product, we needed extensive, reliable data to research and analyze the U.S. labor market — including the impact of layoffs, hiring trends, and industry shifts.
But we quickly discovered a major challenge: there was no single, unified source for the type of data we needed.
Each U.S. state publishes its own WARN notices separately, in different formats, across scattered public websites and PDFs. To conduct meaningful research, we had to build an internal tool capable of collecting, normalizing, and maintaining these distributed datasets.
Our data-collection approach was rooted in a core belief: credible, timely information can meaningfully influence decisions.
Then came the spark — if we were struggling to collect and maintain these datasets, others must be too. So we decided to make this information publicly available in a clear, concise, searchable, and trustworthy format for anyone who needs it.
Our platform organizes publicly available WARN filings — exactly as published by individual U.S. states — into a simple, searchable experience designed for:
